Kaiserswerth & The Cinema

I explored the town surrounding my school, which I’ve been told is a “typical Düsseldorf town” (probably excluding the castle right behind it). I think the town is pretty adorable.

Imperial Palace of Kaiserswerth…the whole description at the castle was in German and I’m too lady and/or disinterested to look up the significance now.

This looks really skewed but I love the path that runs under a bridge through the town

Later that day, I went to the movie theater. I’ve been wanting to see the new Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 but in the theaters here they only show it in German :(. The only movie in English that I found playing in the near future is Mr. Holmes (and Star Wars but I just don’t care right now). The theater was SO cute – outside it looked old fashioned with a “CINEMA” sign. There was only 1 room that showed movies, and before they opened the doors, crowds of people were at the standing tables in the waiting area with drinks in hand. It reminded me of  going to the opera or something. Except I’ve never been to an opera. Anyway, inside the room that was going to play the movie, there were curtains over the screen, as if there was a stage. I went by myself and there were plenty of seats, but people sat RIGHT next to me. I found that amusing. It camouflaged the fact that I have no friends though 😀
